NC State Football & Construction on Blue Ridge Road Likely to Impact Commute Thursday

NC State football team is set to host Virginia Tech in Carter-Finley Stadium on Thursday night.

The game is expected to draw a large crowd and will partially close Blue Ridge Road. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic delays.

Construction

In addition to the football game, construction on Blue Ridge Road will also impact traffic.

Crews will be working on the road between Hillsborough Street and Stafford Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. One lane of traffic will be closed in each direction during this time.

Commute

The combination of the football game and construction is likely to cause significant traffic delays on Blue Ridge Road.

Commuters are advised to use alternate routes or allow for extra travel time. The North Carolina Department of Transportation recommends using I-440 or Capital Boulevard as alternate routes.
