Embiid Weight Loss

Embiid Works on Weight Loss After Playoff Exit

Embiid Sheds 25 Pounds

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid says he has lost 25 pounds this summer in an effort to improve his conditioning. The 28-year-old center was limited to just 31 games last season due to injuries, and he struggled with his conditioning at times during the playoffs. Embiid averaged just 24.1 points per game in the playoffs, down from his regular-season average of 30.6.

Howard: Embiid Needs to Lose Weight

Three-time Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard has been critical of Embiid's weight in the past, and he reiterated his stance earlier this month. Howard said that Embiid needs to lose weight in order to be more effective on the court.

"He's a great player, but he needs to lose weight," Howard said. "He's not going to be able to sustain his level of play if he doesn't get in better shape."

Embiid's Weight Loss Journey

Embiid has been open about his struggles with weight loss in the past. He said that he was once very skinny before he turned to junk food to gain weight. Embiid has since realized that his weight is a liability, and he is committed to losing weight and getting in better shape.

"I know I need to lose weight," Embiid said. "I'm working on it, and I'm going to get there."
