Conservative Political Commentator Leaves Network After Dominion Lawsuit

Tucker Carlson's show, "Tucker Carlson Tonight," is no longer airing on Fox News.

The announcement came less than a week after the network settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for more than $1 billion.

Carlson, a conservative political commentator and writer, has been a controversial figure during his time at Fox News.

He has made numerous false and misleading statements about the 2020 presidential election, the COVID-19 pandemic, and other topics.

Dominion Voting Systems sued Fox News in March 2021, alleging that the network and its employees had spread false information about the company's role in the election.

The lawsuit claimed that Fox News had aired segments that accused Dominion of manipulating voting machines to steal the election from former President Donald Trump.

Fox News settled the lawsuit in February 2023, but did not admit any liability.

Carlson's departure from Fox News is a significant development in the aftermath of the Dominion lawsuit.

It is unclear what Carlson's next move will be, but he is expected to continue to voice his conservative views on a new platform.
