Summer's Scorching Heat: Dubai's August Inferno
Prepare for the Unbearable
As the summer sun relentlessly beats down on Dubai, residents brace themselves for the annual onslaught of August heat. With humidity levels reaching their peak, life in the city transforms into a relentless battle against the unrelenting elements.
A Month of Extreme Heat
August is the hottest month of the year in Dubai, with temperatures soaring to an average of 35°C (95°F). The mercury often climbs even higher, with temperatures frequently reaching 40°C (104°F) or more during the day.
Soaring Humidity
The humidity levels in August are especially punishing, making the heat feel even more intense. The average humidity level during the month is 65%, with peak humidity reaching up to 80% in the early morning and evening hours. This combination of heat and humidity creates an oppressive atmosphere that can be unbearable at times.
Sunshine and Dryness
Despite the suffocating heat and humidity, Dubai experiences an abundance of sunshine in August, with an average of 10.5 hours of sunlight per day. However, the air is also extremely dry, with relative humidity levels dropping below a comfortable 38% on average.
Extreme Heat Precautionary Measures
To cope with the extreme heat, residents of Dubai are advised to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. These measures include staying indoors during peak heat hours, wearing loose and lightweight clothing, and drinking plenty of fluids. Outdoor activities should be limited to early morning or late evening when temperatures are slightly cooler.
